These New Puritans share details of XONE.1 live stream this Friday
30th November 2020
As the release of Hidden [MMXX] fast approaches, These New Puritans have outlined details of XONE.1, a very special live streamed performance. Hosted via the band’s website, the performance will take place at 8pm on 4th December – the release day of Hidden [MMXX] - and will be available to re-watch for 72 hour after. Featuring a cast of collaborators including original TNP member Thomas Hein, pianist Maria Chiara Argiro and legendary composer and inventor Henry Dagg, the performance will be broadcast from Dagg’s workshop/studio in Kent. All proceeds from the stream will go to Survival International.
TNP have shared a glimpse of rehearsals on Instagram; their track ‘Where The Trees Are On Fire’ performed on one of Henry Dagg’s invented instruments, The Sharpsichord.
Fans who pre-order the vinyl edition of Hidden [MMXX] will automatically receive a link to view the XONE.1 live stream. Alternatively tickets are available at a pay-what-you-can fee via the band’s website.

These New Puritans Hidden [MMXX]
Album | 4th December 2020
Domino are delighted to be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of These New Puritans’ Hidden with Hidden [MMXX] - a re-issue of the original album in its full glory accompanied by new and unreleased material from the Hidden sessions alongside live recordings from the same era. Released to critical acclaim in 2010, Hidden was produced by TNP's Jack Barnett and Graham Sutton (Bark Psychosis, Boymerang) and mixed by Dave Cooley (J Dilla, MF DOOM), it draws on both the rhythmic lexicons of dancehall and 20th century post-minimalism, featuring 6ft Japanese Taiko drums, a thirteen piece brass and woodwind ensemble, sub-heavy beats, prepared piano & a children's choir. Its sum is equal parts brutal and melancholy, standing the test of time, sounding as pioneering and bold a decade on.
