The Range shares "Bicameral" remixes by Tourist and Guedra Guedra

The Range - Vermont-based producer James Hinton - today releases two remixes of “Bicameral,” the emotive opening track of his new album Mercury. The first remix comes from Tourist, the Grammy-winning British electronic musician William Phillips with whom Hinton previously collaborated on the 2020 single “Last”; the second is by Guedra Guedra, the Moroccan producer Abdellah M. Hassak.

The Range will be performing at San Francisco’s inaugural Portola Fest on September 25 alongside Flume, The Chemical Brothers, Kaytranada, Jamie XX, Toro y Moi, Charlie XCX and many more. More details can be found HERE.

The Range Mercury

Album | 10th June 2022

On Mercury, Hinton builds on the techniques he established on his critically acclaimed 2016 LP Potential, seeking to create human connection in the Internet age through sampling vocalists from the corners of YouTube, Instagram, and Periscope. “I feel like I can find ways to express myself in ways that I’m too shy or unable to do in the real world,” Hinton says of the process.

Mercury is moody, transportive, and undeniably rave-infused, and although it is indebted to IDM mainstays and grime pioneers, the album finds Hinton pushing himself outside the constraints of any one specific genre.
