Spiral Stairs heads out on headline tour next week

Next week, Spiral Stairs aka Scott Kannberg (founding member of Pavement and Preston School of Industry) begins his 26-date UK & European headline tour including London’s Moth Club where he will be joined by a very special guest.

To launch the occasion, he has shared the video for ‘Exiled Tonight’. Taken from Spiral Stairs’ second album Doris and The Daggers, The National’s Matt Berninger lends his vocals to the bittersweet, zephyr-light track and the video is directed by Ashod Simonian – the artist behind the album artwork for DATD and The Real Feel.  Kannberg adds: “Ashod was a friend of my late drummer Darius Minwalla’s as well and we wanted to make something in his honour. It was generated by emails back and forth from myself and Ashod.”

The recent Doris and The Daggers showcased the most personal and emotional music Kannberg has ever written, reflecting the life changes that occurred over those eight years. During that stretch, Scott weathered the loss of friends, treasured the joys of fatherhood, lived life as an Australian and even ate haggis – experiences that inform these warm, sweetly melodic and soundly honest songs.
