Owen Pallett shares video for "Fire-Mare" from 'Island' animated series

“As winter descends upon us, we’d like to offer you some warmth,” says Owen Pallett, of their new video for “Fire-Mare,” the second part of an animated series by Toronto-based illustrator Eric Kostiuk Williams.

"Fire-Mare" is from Owen’s latest album Island, out now on Domino / Secret City (Canada), and follows the video they released on December 7 for “Paragon Of Order.” Owen describes the two songs as “an extroverted coda to an introverted album.”

Island will be available in standard CD and 2xLP on March 5, 2021. A special LP bundle is available to pre-order now that includes Island 2xLP and an accompanying limited-edition Island (Demos) LP featuring 9 demos. Owen was recently featured on the NPR Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series, filmed fall 2020 from his home in Toronto.

Owen Pallett Island

Album | 22nd May 2020

Island is the latest album from Oscar-nominated composer and songwriter Owen Pallett.  Almost entirely acoustic, Island begins with 13 darkened chords, and was recorded live at Abbey Road Studios with the London Contemporary Orchestra. The introduction is sound of waking up alone, and on the shore of a strange land. What follows is a shimmering and luscious orchestral album that draws across the full breadth of Pallett’s discography, from Heartland’s Technicolor to the glittering, fingerpicked guitar that marked Pallett’s first records with their trio, Les Mouches.
