Hayden Thorpe unveils new single "Metafeeling"
7th September 2021
Today, Hayden Thorpe is happy to unveil “Metafeeling,” the latest single from his upcoming second solo album, Moondust For My Diamond, out October 15th.
“Metafeeling” follows the previously shared songs “Parallel Kingdom” and “The Universe Is Always Right.” The video for “Metafeeling” comes directed by Percy Dean and was filmed in Cumbria’s Lake District—England's largest national park—showcasing the stunning scenery of Thorpe’s home as he plays guitar in his equally spectacular suit. That Hagstrom Viking baritone guitar is central to Moondust For My Diamond. Hayden bought it in Brooklyn on Valentine’s Day 2019 and explains, “if the piano was my totem instrument for ‘Diviner’ then this guitar became the amulet for the new record.”
Talking about “Metafeeling”, Thorpe says, “I was feeling inspired by studies into the potential healing properties of psilocybin mushrooms in psychotherapy. I signed up to a flagship programme in the Netherlands as I wanted to explore consciousness in a safe way. The line ‘whatever was was, now what is is’ came to me and distilled much of what I had experienced during that time.”
Moondust For My Diamond follows 2019’s Diviner and Aerial Songs EP from last year. Thorpe will premiere music from his new album at two special shows this October, one in association with Aerial, at Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal and the other at London’s Chat’s Palace.

Hayden Thorpe Moondust For My Diamond
Album | 15th October 2021
In contrast to Diviner, a record that very much favoured the inner world, Moondust For My Diamound sees Hayden Thorpe moving into a more natural visual and sonic palette, gazing outward on the world. Produced by Richard Formby and Nathan Jenkins (Bullion), Thorpe has made an album that is galvanising, reassuring, elegant, seductive: it oozes Big Cosmic Energy.
