Tirzah shares new single and video "Hive Mind"
8th September 2021
Ahead of the release of Tirzah’s eagerly anticipated second album Colourgrade – due 1st October - Tirzah is pleased to share new song “Hive Mind”, written alongside frequent collaborators Coby Sey and Mica Levi. With its thumping kick and rolling synth melody beneath its call-and-response vocal duet, the track is a tribute to community and to family, and all the friction and harmony that comes with it.
The accompanying video directed, edited, and shot by Leah Walker & Rebecca Salvadori is a ten-minute film encapsulating that “Hive Mind” of Tirzah’s including the extended CURL crew, Coby Sey and Mica Levi.“Hive Mind” is the fourth track to be shared from Colourgrade, following the soft luminescence of “Send Me”, “Sink In” and “Tectonic”.
Colourgrade follows on from 2018’s immediate cult classic LP, Devotion. It forms a subconscious snapshot from across a year when Tirzah was playing live regularly for the first time, in the depths of promoting Devotion and recorded soon after the birth of her first child and shortly before her second child was born.
The album explores recovery, gratitude and new beginnings, presenting a singer having discovered the type of love that is shared between a mother and a child for the first time, whilst simultaneously working as an artist. Capturing both the great and the scary, the exhaustion and the recovery, Colourgrade is a listless amble through the innermost feelings, an intoxicating presentation of a full-time mother and artist.
Tirzah live dates
