Hayden Thorpe announces deluxe version of his second album + shares new single "Polygod"

Last autumn, Hayden Thorpe released his beautiful second album Moondust For My Diamond. Now he is pleased to reveal details of a deluxe version entitled Moondust For My Diamond – Every Piece of Dust Edition, that will get a digital only release on August 19th. The special edition includes the original album, four new tracks and four remixes of songs from Moondust For My Diamond.

Produced by Nathan Jenkins (aka Bullion) and Richard Formby, the four new tracks see Thorpe explore a deeper, and more seductive side to his song writing. Today, Hayden shares “Polygod”, and reveals the origins of the new music: "Every Piece of Dust brings into the family all of the stray songs that were written alongside Moondust For My Diamond. I think of this release as a Director's Cut - indulging some of the choices that went unmade up until now. There’s a mini-grief that happens when you finish off and move on from a record - you almost have to say, "I’m moving on forever”. However these songs stave off execution day for sometime yet.”

Directed by Andy Little, the video for “Polygod” sees Hayden cloaked in angel wings as he sings the refrain “Set me on fire”.

The arresting new remixes come from four artists who have made an impact on Thorpe across his recent musical journey: Hinako Omori, Deep Throat Choir, Nakhane and James Adrian Brown. Thorpe says: “I feel so lucky to have such gifted friends make these remixes for me. Each one of them have in some way elevated and maximised all that the song could be. It’s so thrilling and heartening to have people you care about create alongside you. It’s a collection I’m really proud of for that reason."

Additionally, Hayden Thorpe has announced a special evening in London next month to celebrate the release of his Full Moon Chronicles Zine. A collection of his essays written over the past few years, this is the first time they will be available as a physical artefact and all in one place. Thorpe will be reading and performing at the Brick Lane Bookshop event and the Full Moon Chronicles zine will be available to buy on the night.
