Steve Mason Announces Alive at The Barbican

Scottish singer, songwriter and lyricist,Steve Mason is known for his solo career, for being the lead singer and founding member of The Beta Band and also for his other projects under the name King Biscuit Time and Black Affair.  In this special one-off concert at the Barbican showcasing this versatile artist, Mason will present material from his musical adventures to date, spanning from The Beta Band and King Biscuit Time, to material from his subsequent solo career, featuring songs from his albums, Boys OutsideMonkey Minds In The Devil’s Time and his latest 2016 album Meet The Humans with specially commissioned arrangements by British composer, arranger and conductor Joe Duddell (who also scored the strings and brass on Meet The Humans).

Steve Mason (vocals, guitar, percussion) will be joined on stage by his full band featuring Steve Duffield (bass), Elliot King (guitar), Darren Morris (keyboards) and Greg Neilson (drums) as well as an ensemble consisting of string quartet, harp, percussion(vibes, timps, glock), a 6-piece brass section and three gospel vocalists conducted and arranged by Joe Duddell.
