The Black Madonna remixes Georgia's "About Work The Dancefloor"
21st June 2019
As festival season moves in to full swing, Georgia has today shared a very special remix of “About Work The Dancefloor” by one of dance music’s most in-demand and inspirational figureheads, The Black Madonna.
The former Chicago Smart Bar resident and Mixmag 2016 DJ of The Year juxtaposes Georgia’s infectious pop with her trademark soulful disco and house production, taking the original to even headier heights.
Georgia on working with The Black Madonna:
“It’s so rare that you meet people in music where you genuinely share the same mind, Marea and I have this. I’m just so humbled and happy to have her in my life. She is an absolute inspiration. I hope people who hear her remix turn it up & dance, and if it’s on the dance floor I hope people find hope, happiness & love.”
The Black Madonna on her relationship with Georgia:
“Georgia is one of those once in a lifetime connections for me. We just instantly clicked. There was a shared language, the same musical obsessions. The remix was a no brainer. I knew immediately what I wanted to do and I loved the original so much. Georgia is just so insanely talented. So taking this thing and extracting out the parts that really felt like they wanted to be on the dance floor was incredibly fun. It’s so rare that you make a friend where you can pass things back and forth so naturally. I loved being a part of her record.”
Both of Georgia’s 2019 singles, “Started Out” and “About Work The Dancefloor” have been on the A-list at BBC Radio1.
