Shirley Collins announces flexi-disc Christmas card single
8th October 2020
Shirley Collins is happy to announce news of her Christmas single; taken from Collins’ recent album Heart’s Ease, “The Christmas Song” will be receiving a special signed, flexi-disc Christmas card release on November 13th.
Bringing some much needed cheer, “The Christmas Song” is a song from the renowned Copper Family of Rottingdean in East Sussex. They lived and worked the land around there for over four centuries – the earliest Copper entry in the Parish Register of Rottingdean church is dated 1593. Collins adds: “It's one of my favourite of the Copper Family songs.”
Additionally, Shirley Collins will be performing on BBC Two’s Later… with Jools Holland tomorrow evening, Collins will be joined by Ian Kearey, tune in from 10pm.
As part of the announcement that there will be an Official Folk Albums Chart launching later this month, it was also confirmed that Shirley Collins’s Heart’s Ease is #8 in the biggest folk albums of 2020 so far.
