Buzzcocks share their 1978 TOTPs performance of "Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)"

Today sees the release of A Different Kind Of Tension and Singles Going Steady, the latest pair of albums in the continuing Buzzcocks reissue campaign. And to mark the releases, Domino have shared the band’s 1978 Top Of The Pops performance of their biggest hit, "Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve)" and the video to "What Do I Get?". Both have been digitally restored and are officially available online for the first time.

Additionally, ‘What Do I Get? : 40 years of Buzzcocks and the art of Malcolm Garrett’, a very special exhibition celebrating the Garrett’s distinctive artwork for the band, takes place at the Noho Showroom, 67 Great Titchfield Street, Fitzrovia, London W1W 7PT tomorrow, Saturday June 15th, between 10am – 6pm.

It features Malcolm’s original artwork designs for Buzzcocks throughout their tenure together, as well as a pop-up shop where fans can buy special copies of the 40th anniversary re-issues and the original ‘Product’ carrier bag, plus a very limited number of exclusive screen-prints of the original Malcolm Garrett ‘What Do I Get?’ poster. 

Finally, having previously announced a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on June 21st 2019, the band, featuring Steve Diggle and the current members, recently confirmed they would continue and play the show by way of a celebration of Shelley’s life and musical genius following his untimely death in December 2018. Supported by Skids and Penetration, additionally a host of special guests will be joining Buzzcocks on stage, including Paul Morley, who will be MC for the evening, Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Captain Sensible and Dave Vanian (The Damned), Peter Perrett (Only Ones), Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), Richard Jobson (Skids) and Pauline Murray (Penetration), as well as ‘classic’ Buzzcocks members John Maher and Steve Garvey.

A Different Kind of Tension is available on Deluxe LP (REWIGLP128X), pressed on yellow heavyweight 180g vinyl, Standard LP (REWIGLP128) and CD (REWIG128).  Singles Going Steady is available on Deluxe LP (REWIGLP129X), pressed on purple heavyweight 180g vinyl, Standard LP (REWIG129) and CD (REWIG129). All versions come with a lavish booklet including essays by cultural commentators Jon Savage and Clinton Heylin and unseen Buzzcocks photos. Both Deluxe vinyl versions come with a recreation of Buzzcocks’ classic carrier bag and are available exclusively via Dom Mart.

These pair of albums follow the 40th anniversary re-issues of Another Music In A Different Kitchen and Love Bites in January of this year and the re-release of the band’s debut EP, Spiral Scratch and Time’s Up, a 1976 collection of demos, in March 2018.
